In The Ends

"We only want to be free. And as funny as it sounds it's all we want. To not have our egos bound with the rays of suns. Because man should be free as falling rain. To find what he loves even if it's pain" - The Growlers

Entourage & True Detective

I allocated a bunch of couch time a couple weeks ago to watch Entourage from start to finish (S1 - S8).  I realized why I liked it so much when it aired: the close friendships and adventures.  It's why I like Swingers and Point Break as well.  It kind of left me deflated after the last episode, the fact that while I came closer than most, it doesn't look like that will ever be my reality.

And then the last week I watched True Detective, which is excellent and one of the first TV dramas I've watched in a long time.  Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson were great, and I've realized I've taken on a bit of a Rust Cohle role in my apartment.  I've been pacing in darkness and in silence, with laundry & dishes neglected, chasing Advil with Coronas, spending a lot of time thinking about life, my place in it, and where I'm going.

Oh, and it has a great theme song, selected by T Bone Burnett, performed by Chicago band The Handsome Family.
