RT 16: Hayward, WI

One of the things I love about New Orleans and Santa Fe is they feel like you're not in the US. Well we can add Hayward, WI to that list. Is it Canada? Is it Scandinavia? Different vibes up there, with taverns in the middle of nowhere, cheese curds on every menu and shouts of "We don't wear masks in Wisconsin" when the Denver boys walk in with their N95s 😂 I love the Northwoods!

Great to see RT momentum in the covid era. We've talked about snowmobiling for years and it finally happened, exceeding expectations.  They go WAY faster than I expected, one of the most adventurous activities we've done, and the Hayward trails to taverns across the frozen lakes was the ideal setting. Except for nearly getting frostbite after the first 5 mins of riding (thanks Red for all the gear, especially gloves) and a Phipps fumble on the 1 yardline, it was a 10/10 day.

Followed up by Sunday ice fishing with Eric in the morning ("It's fishing, not catching"), and then getting hardcore with Mike & his daughters (those girls know how to debone!), we nailed the ice fishing experience and even the sissyboy from LA caught one! (literally one). Great idea by Gray to hire Chris the private chef to cook our catch. That guy has a lot of stories!

I can now highly recommend Hayward, especially for snowmobiling.  Fun to knock out a cold weather RT.  The RT crew looking chiseled and healthy.  Where to next?
