Disc Golf Road Trip
Twenty years ago, and maybe even ten years ago, classic California moments were probably pretty easy to come by. I'm talking about those moments when the sun is shining at the perfect angle, there's a refreshing breeze, you're cruising down an open road and an epic song is blasting on the stereo. Or maybe you're on the beach with no one else around, the sun is hanging over the horizon and the waves are crashing at your feet.
Those moments can still be captured. But in today's California, you really need to make an effort to experience them, as they aren't hanging around on every corner. Without planning and dedication, you can very easily find yourself in sweltering heat, in gridlocked traffic, pulling off the road for a ice coffee at a McDonald's inside a Wal-Mart where everyone in the entire store looks like a mutant, an alien or a zombie. You can't wake up at 11am anymore and expect a nice little cruise up the coast. The cruise needs to begin at 7am before the zombies wake from their slumber.
We got a little of both on this trip. A few zombie moments and a few James Dean moments. I'll take it.
