In The Ends

"We only want to be free. And as funny as it sounds it's all we want. To not have our egos bound with the rays of suns. Because man should be free as falling rain. To find what he loves even if it's pain" - The Growlers

Colombia

Before I started the new gig, I knew I had to get out of the country for a few days. Europe & Asia were a bit far given the timing. I needed something closer. I then remembered that a friend from LA, Zeke, had recently moved to Medellin, Colombia. I quickly decided to pull the trigger, and although I wasn't 100% confident the trip would be a success, it ended up being one of the best trips of my life.

I stayed in Medellin with Zeke for 5 days. We hooked up with an adventure tour guide named Andres who is one of the friendliest, kindest people I have ever met, and a fantastic tour guide. He took us though the countryside of Colombia for 1.5 days, as we explored the massive coffee plantations (Andres is friends with Juan Valdez) which are called fincas, and we stayed in a beautiful coffee town four hours from Medellin called Jardin. Gorgeous town, friendly people, amazing coffee. Horseback riding to a waterfall near Jardin and participation in an Indian ceremony were also part of the tour, including meals with Andres's friends along the way.

Back in Medellin, Andres helped us explore the entire city, including a local market where tourists rarely visit.  It was a great look into the lives of locals.

Perfect trip. Can't wait for the next.
