In The Ends

"We only want to be free. And as funny as it sounds it's all we want. To not have our egos bound with the rays of suns. Because man should be free as falling rain. To find what he loves even if it's pain" - The Growlers

Crazy Fucking Indians

If we are having this much fun when we're 58, we should consider ourselves the luckiest mother fuckers in the world.
Mr. & Mrs. Patel know how to party, what more is there to say.

NaperTHRILL!

While Hatfield was bettering himself by running a 1/2 marathon, pushing his body to the limit, I was in Naperville having my own kind of fun...

Getting drunk in Naperville is never complete without KLow & Kunur, TC ripping shots & peeing a little bit in his pants.

And ofcourse, no night in Naperville is complete without a little guy-on-guy action with Little Bills & Cuddle Bear

Half Marathon

I ran a half marathon down in San Diego this past Sunday called "The America's Finest City Half Marathon." I didn't get much of a chance to train because I decided I was going to do it a week in advance, but I did pretty well, finishing in 2 hours 2 minutes. It was the hardest I have ever pushed myself physically, I had zero left in the tank the last mile. I was surprised how quickly my body recouperated however, although I basically couldn't walk on Monday, I was back to 100% by Wednesday.

Overall, it was a really cool experience. The crowd's energy gives you a lift when you need it and you feel like you have accomplished something when you cross the finish line. The LA Marathon is coming up in March. I'm thinking about training for it, running it, and then going into retirement. Although marathons give you a feeling of satisfaction when they are complete, there is nothing fun about training and running 26.2 miles.

Here were the three stages to my day: wake up at 5am, run 13.1 miles, drink margaritas.

Hey, what a great six months

This website is officially 6 months old. We have had some great things written and posted thus far. Speaking for myself, if anyone has pics, articles, or any other notes from their lives, I, for one, would be very interested in seeing them. And yes Billy, this includes pictures of your new girl, you know, the one with fangs you keep hidden under your bed. Panosh, I never did see the pics of your new place, I heard it is way too nice for you. TC, how about some pics of you hanging out with my sister and my family? I feel like those would be appropriate. Davit, after our conversation about "the company", how about writing up a business model and letting people put their two cents in? Scabs, don't tell me you don't have any pics from Mauston. I have been there, it is a classic-pic breeding ground. Stanimal? I mean, come on. Soham, I need a picture and description of this fictitious Caroline person. Does she exist? We don't know! And Sesh, all I want from you is a picture of you eating a bowl of cereal for breakfast and a salad for lunch! I still don't believe it!

Happy anniversary!

Mulholland Drive

I went to see the Smoking Popes in Hollywood a few months ago. After the show, I took a stroll down Hollywood Blvd as I walked back to my car. As I usually do when I walk someplace by myself, I started humming a tune that popped into my head. Then I started to get a melody down and started singing words that went along with the music. By the time I got back to my car, I was full-out singing a new song.

The words of the song are related to Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills. Although I had never driven on the street, Ruane and others had told me how cool it was and what great views of the Valley and LA there are from various points on the street. I recorded the melody of the song and the basic idea for the lyrics on my cell phone so I could figure out the guitar part later.

When Jules came out to visit she recorded me playing Mulholland Drive on her digital camera. The sound isn't very good and the video doesn't entirely match up with the music, but you get the idea. In my opinion, it is the best song I have written to this date.

Visitor # 9

My ninth visitor came out to LA this past weekend, but Jules ranks behind no one. It was great having her out here for a weekend. Although it was brief, we did some cool stuff and I think she got a good feel for LA. We spent a lot of time cruising through the Hollywood Hills on Mulholland Drive as I attempted to drive to Malibu. After pulling over to ask someone for directions, we were informed that it would take over 4 hours to get to Malibu by Mulholland Drive because the road is so curvy. We also went to check out a Fox sitcom taping at CBS Studios. It's called Happy Hour, it's based in Chicago, and will air on Thursday nights this fall. Might want to check it out, it could be funny. It's one of those shows that Scabbies would probably find very ammusing.

Without ever having been to Cali, Jules actually said to me before she arrived, "Are people going to know I'm not from there?" Yes, she is still adorable, she actually says things like that. I think she found that she fit in just fine. It was great having her out here and I'm very glad she made the trip.
