RT 10: Iowa City

And they said it couldn't be done.  10 years fellas!  And it feels damn good.  Iowa City was definitely the right venue for RT 10.  Where it all started.  2015 was luckily the right year for football too, with a 57 yard field goal to beat Pitt (and Martinis goes wild!) and a few weeks later 7-0, #10 in the country.

But IC is more than just football.  One of the things I love about this crew's experience in IC in the early 2000s is that no one... can ever.... take it away from us.  Unless you were there with us, at that time, you're probably not going to understand it.  I mean, we were in Iowa for Chrissake.  And it fucking rocked.  And we barely used cell phones.  Which was amazing.  And we ate cheap Chinese food at Easy Place before it burned to the ground.  And that was delicious.  It was just a truly special time, and it's been the basis of 10 years of great trips with great friends, with more to come.

Iowa City in 2015 definitely looks different.  But it isn't as different as I expected it to be, honestly.  Bobby is still behind the bar, Grayson and Dan are still inspiring America's youth to drop trou and Hillcrest is still serving up cookiefries.

It may be awhile before we're back in IC as a full crew, but it's really good to know that IC is still there, still pretty much the same, still that magical place in the cornfields of the heartland where we had the fucking greatest time of our lives.  And no one can ever take it away from us.
