In The Ends

"We only want to be free. And as funny as it sounds it's all we want. To not have our egos bound with the rays of suns. Because man should be free as falling rain. To find what he loves even if it's pain" - The Growlers

Parkman Turns 30

The ol' Parkman turned 30 recently and the week was full of surprises.

It all kicked off with Soham flying in from Boston to surprise Jeff. He got in late on Wednesday and Jeff was already in bed. Soham snuck around to the back of the house and started banging on the window to Jeff's room. No response. No movement. Was Jeff dead? He banged again. Still nothing. Soham then came back around to the front and poked his head in the front door. I was sitting there watching TV prepared to act like I had no idea what was going on. "Did he get up?" Soham asked. "I don't think so," I said. Then I got up to go outside to talk it over with Soham and figure out our next plan of attack. I was nearly out the door when I saw him. Standing in the shadows at the end of the hall, with the most serious look on his face. It was a mix of fear, hatred, anger, power and bravery all mixed into one. Jeff was holding a black Louisville slugger baseball bat. I firmly believe that if it would have actually been a robber banging on his window, that robber would have had his head smashed to pieces. Of course then Soham and I jumped on him and yelled "It's a surprise!!".

Surprise #2 took place two days later when Dan and Bart flew in from Denver. We agreed the best approach was for both of them to hide in a vaccum closet in the front room and then we ask Jeff to open the closet. We've been having some plumbing issues in the back of our house, so I decided to tell Jeff there was shit in the closet and he should come take a look. As most of you know, Jeff is not a fan of shit, especially in closets. This was a miscalculation on my part. I underestimated how much Jeff truly hates shit, as he almost refused to look in the closet. Fortunately, he ended up opening the door.
On Saturday we then had a full blown party with a DJ and bartender.  Soham and Jeff were in charge of getting mixers.  See the below photo for what they came back with for a party of 60 people.  Truly incredible.  Clearly these characters have never hosted a social gathering.

Can't wait to do it again next year!  Happy bday Parkman!
