Traveling the World on Motorcycles

I stumbled upon three fantastic documentary series that I would recommend to anyone interested in traveling the world. Ewan McGregor and his good buddy Charley Boorman have done 2 world trips on motocycles, and Charlie did one on his own in the Dakar Rally. All 3 are available on youtube.

Long Way Round (2004)

Starting in London, Ewan and Charley ride east through Europe and continue through Asia, adventuring into Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Siberia, eventually into Russia where they then fly to Alaska and go through Canada and the U.S., finishing in New York.



Long Way Down (2007)

On their second world trip, they begin at the northernmost tip of Scotland, John O'Groats, and travel south through Europe and wind their way through Africa, ending in Cape Town.



Race to Dakar (2006)

Charley participates in the historic Dakar Rally as he races with other competitors from Lisbon, Portugal to Dakar, Senegal.
