Old Guys Playing Sports
The last couple weeks have been pretty solid for old guys
playing sports. That makes me happy :)
In high school, any guy younger than me wasn't getting a lot
of respect from me, simply based on age (90% of the time). That approach lingered in college and
eventually faded away by my late 20s, but solidified itself in a different form
in my 30s. It moved over to sports, and
while I might have respect for athletes younger than me, the only guys that can
qualify as "my guys" have to be older than me. If you're my guy, I'm passionately rooting
for you, tuning in to watch you play, setting the DVR to watch games I missed and
even stay up really late or wake really early to watch if they're playing
overseas.
Two weeks ago my guy T Woods made the cut for the first time
since 2015.
And then my guy R Federer won the Australian Open for his
20th Grand Slam title.
And then my guy T Brady played in his 8th Super Bowl and
threw for more passing yards than any QB in history.
Respect!
