In The Ends

"We only want to be free. And as funny as it sounds it's all we want. To not have our egos bound with the rays of suns. Because man should be free as falling rain. To find what he loves even if it's pain" - The Growlers

Half Marathon

I ran a half marathon down in San Diego this past Sunday called "The America's Finest City Half Marathon." I didn't get much of a chance to train because I decided I was going to do it a week in advance, but I did pretty well, finishing in 2 hours 2 minutes. It was the hardest I have ever pushed myself physically, I had zero left in the tank the last mile. I was surprised how quickly my body recouperated however, although I basically couldn't walk on Monday, I was back to 100% by Wednesday.

Overall, it was a really cool experience. The crowd's energy gives you a lift when you need it and you feel like you have accomplished something when you cross the finish line. The LA Marathon is coming up in March. I'm thinking about training for it, running it, and then going into retirement. Although marathons give you a feeling of satisfaction when they are complete, there is nothing fun about training and running 26.2 miles.

Here were the three stages to my day: wake up at 5am, run 13.1 miles, drink margaritas.
